Welcome! My name is Joshua Goldstein.
I am a mathematician turned software engineer. Formerly at Dgraph.
I received my PhD from Texas A&M in May 2026. My research focused on developing new explicit bounds in p-adic fewnomial theory. Efficient algorithms were essential in this effort, and we made extensive use of computer algebra systems such as Maple and SymPy.
During my studies, I had the opportunity to work at Dgraph, a graph database company, where I worked primarily on backend services and DevOps.
Previously, I studied mathematics at Swarthmore College. After graduating I spent one year in Varna, Bulgaria as an English teacher with the support of a Fulbright grant. Following that I moved from my hometown in New Jersey to College Station, Texas to work with Dr. Rojas.
I currently live in Urla with my wife and our new-born baby daughter.
